1st Time with Santa!

Brandon, McKenzie and I were asked to play Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus in the Ward Christmas pageant. We had a good time. McKenzie didn't want to be swaddled though...but as soon as I turned her around to see everyone watching her she was a happy girl, just chattering to everyone! It was kind of cute!
This was a great year to get a picture of Santa and McKenzie. She is just old enough to be really cute with him and yet not old enough to be afraid of him. (Big thanks to Aunt Kylane for letting us borrow the cute Christmas Dress!) It was a great party with tons of great food!
Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas!

McKenzie getting Bigger!

McKenzie is getting so big. I can't believe how fast they grow. She was playing with her toys the other day and was just too cute! (Thanks Aunt Dawnell for the great toy!) She has also learned thanks to her dad...how to suck on her toes, that is her favorite thing to do when she gets a diaper change! Crazy girl!

Christmas Tree Hunting!

Christmas Tree Hunting is probably one of my most favoritist traditions we have. Every year the Jones' get together after Thanksgiving and go hunting for the perfect Christmas Tree. We hike all over the mountain to find the perfect Christmas Tree and usually end up hiking back to the one we saw first! Then we roast hot dogs and smores over the fire! It is wonderful.

This year we got to hike with McKenzie to...a little tricky but we did it. We found a great tree. Most years I find the tree that I want and Brandon tells me it won't fit...it is too big, but we cut it down anyway because that is the one I want. Then we get it home and Brandon spends the next day "trimming" the tree to fit into our house. But this year he didn't really have to do that much "trimming"! It is lots of fun. Jimmie and Bridget found a great tree too! So Brandon and Jimmie hauled our tree and Bridget, McKenzie and I hauled their's.

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving this year was fantastic. We had so much to be thankful for. Brandon had a great growing season and harvest weather has been beautiful. We were actually done with harvest by Thanksgiving, so we got to take the whole week off and go see my parents! It was great. We had lots of food and did lots of shopping. Brandon was so awesome, he watched McKenzie while I went with my mom and Bridget to do BlackFriday shopping at 4:00 in the morning! We did it all...shopping, playing games, watching movies, visiting, and pigging out! A great week!

Just a few things we are thankful for: Each other

McKenzie

Family

The Gospel

The Farm

Financial Security

These are just a few because we could go on forever! Hope everyone had as wonderful Thanksgiving as us!

Birthdays!

Brandon and I both had a birthday this month. It was a lot of fun. Brandon's mom made this amazing picture frame with the cutest pictures of McKenzie (Thanks Jan and Flint). We had cherry chacha and had a great time. My mom got me a cupcake cake pan for my birthday...so I made Brandon a giant cupcake for his birthday. Brandon got a shirt and a remote control light switch. I can't believe we are this old. We had a great time.

1st Shots!

McKenzie got her first set of baby shots on Wednesday! It was so tramatic...for mom! McKenzie did great. I gave her a little bit of Infant Tylenol like Kylane said to do before we left and she cried when they poked her but she stopped after about 5 minutes. They gave her three shots and after the first shot I was ready to say "Quit poking my baby" and run. After the third shot it was all I could do not to cry with McKenzie. Why they have to put moms through that I will never understand. Then on top of that they talked me into getting the H1N1 shot and the flu shot, so I got two! They really hurt! But we made it and Brandon let mom have a treat for being a big girl! McKenzie is a sweetie though and she took it so well, no fever or anything...YEAH! Mom is still a little sore!

Brandon got a 4X4!

Brandon and his dad had their hunt this last week. Jimmie and Logan went with them the first day and then Jimmie went back with them on Monday. And Brandon got a really nice 4X4 buck. He is so excited and proud, not only is it a really nice buck but it is the biggest for Brandon so far. His dad got one too! I am just impressed they have pictures to show for it...I think it is because Jimmie was there.
So we had two deer to process. It wasn't so bad processing the meat this time, maybe I am just getting used to it. We love to can the meat, it is so easy and so good. And of course we have lots of jerky meat. We have been blessed again this year. I am really proud of him. I think they had a good time.

Halloween

Here is us on Halloween. McKenzie was the cutest flower ever. We have great neighbors who adore her and Toni bought her this cute flower outfit for Halloween. We had a great time. We carved pumpkins, had neighbors over for dinner and then handed out candy to all the kids. McKenzie was a flower, I was a farmers wife, and Brandon's glasses had a button that if you turned it the eyebrows and mustache wiggled. It was a big hit with all the little kids. Bridget was an awesome witch and Jimmie was going for the Clark Kent look. It was a good Halloween.

McKenzie Marie Jones

The greatest blessing of our life happenend on August 10th, 2009. McKenzie joined our life and has been the coolest thing. She is beautiful and so much fun to have. She is about 3 months old now and just so stinkin cute. This is a picture Bridget snapped of her. She loves to sit up and she has the biggest smiles for everyone. She is a great baby and has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.
