We had a great 4th of July. We had fun at the Virden breakfast at 6:00 AM...McKenzie loved all the people at the old church. And pancakes are always a hit with her. I think this is the first time I have actually been on time to the breakfast...I usually slept in but not with McKenzie! It was great that my parents were here and didn't have to leave to go back to Ruidoso! It is fun having them live here. Brandon's family had just gotten back from visiting Dustin and Kylane, they had a great time. Then we went to the parade...which McKenzie loved all the noise and floats. Everyone was so good to her and made sure she got lots of candy! Brandon's family skipped out on the parade to talk to Rustin who had just left the MTC for Japan. After the parade we went back to Brandon's parents and we actually got to say hi to Rustin too! McKenzie was cute to say Hi and his name (they were best buds before he left!). Then Logan talked Brandon into playing in the community basketball tournament. It has been two years since he played, the last time was 4th of July 2 years ago and they won the tournament with him, Rustin, Trevin, and Dave Haney. This year it was Brandon, Logan, Nathan, and they recruited Roy Corona. So two 30 something year olds and 2 under 15 years old. Well, they actually did really well and got all the way to 2nd place. But Brandon and Roy were about done for by the end but it was great fun watching them. Then we had a nice bar-b-que with my parents, Brandon's parents, and Dan and Kristin's family. It was a great 4th!
